Pretty. Cool. Bright. Sparkling. The words are true for the lovely you and the mystic moon! There is one more thing in common between both of you beauties. You both go through phases, while glowing brightly. Let’s demystify the menstrual cycle for you.

How long is the menstrual cycle

On average, it lasts around 28 to 30 days.

It can also range from 21-35 days, as we are all made unique.

How do I know how long my menstrual cycle is?

Well, the simplest way is to use the Kotex Period Tracker.

Why do I need to know?

So you are always prepared with your period supplies and never caught by surprise.

Knowing the length of your menstrual cycle determines when you need to see a doctor – if your cycle gets abnormally long, short, or irregular after the first 2-3 years of getting your periods.

When does it start and end?

Let’s take this a few days at a time.

(Visual: Game like stages of the cycle)

Live your life to the fullest. Without having to change a thing about it. Not even during your periods. Well, how? All you have to do is understand your cycle, know what happens in your body and mind and then tactfully handle it.

Day 1:

The first day of your period marks the beginning of your menstrual cycle.

Signs & symptoms: Light flow and some discomfort.

Days 2-7:

In your body: The uterus lining breaks down causing bleeding. Your period is at its heaviest.

Signs & symptoms: Headaches, acne, abdominal cramps, lower back pain.

Days 8-14

In your body: The lining begins to thicken, prepping for the release of an egg. Ovulation occurs, generally on the 14th day.

Signs & symptoms: Energetic, positive mood, outgoing.

Days 15-25

In your body: Proteins are released in preparation of the arrival and implantation of a fertilised egg.

Signs & symptoms: Beautiful skin, slightly higher body temperature and increase in appetite.

Days 26-28

In your body: The uterus wall continues to thicken till hormone levels see a dip. The lining breaks down and you go back to the beginning of your cycle.

Signs & symptoms: Fatigue, breast tenderness, some skin troubles.

So, love yourself to the moon and back. You deserve it. Remember to always stay prepared for all the surprises that life brings to you. Especially during the last few days of your cycle. One thing you must carry in your bag are the soft Kotex Overnight Period Panties  with 360 anti-leakage protection to save yourself from any last-minute panic.
